Makali’i fundraiser 19 Sept. ’09 @ KTA!

Saturday (19th Sept.), there’s a fundraising event for the Makali’i Educational Program at the Puainako KTA in Hilo from 9 am to 3pm.  There will be canoes on display, some traditional Maori foods, Makali’i merchandise, lomi lomi massage, and  cultural demonstrations by the Marshalese community.  The proceeds for this event will benefit for the Makali’i educational program.  Come by to learn something about voayaging canoes, canoe culture, for some great fellowship, and a great cause!

    hey mike! it’s your cousin emily. i found you through my aunt kea’s blog. anyway, great to see you here. i fogot you were living in hilo. next time i am home i will look you up so we can get together. most likely i will be on the big island at christmas. and in case you are on the west coast, let me know. aloha mai ka kou! emily

    I too just found you on Kea’s blog.
    Looking through your posts, ( don’t know if that’s the right terminology)
    I see we have more in common.
    1. years ago a good friend kept encouraging me to read the book by John Gatto.
    Glad you did. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
    2.Also I zoomed in on your photo of co-working friends in”community based” project.
    We know slightly the fellow in the wheelchair, & more-so his wife. She use to teach at the Charter School Pua went to, Kanu O ka ‘Aina .

    Emily & her beau, Dave will be here Dec 23-29. Will you be around?
    They’ll probably stay up at Jim’s just West of Hawi– just because I have No space here. But we always spend a lot of time together when she’s here.
